Wedding @ the water tower in Louisville Ky and other cheap ideas?

i was wondering if anyone on here has gotten married or been to a wedding there. my bf and i have been looking around for possible places to have our wedding, and when i saw this place, i fell in love! i honestly dont think that i have any other choice....when we got there, it just felt right...i got the same feeling from that place that i do when i'm with him. but, i wonder how much it cost, how strict they really are, and if the money is worth it. we have a budget of about 5k and i want something really pretty. i plan on having 1 wedding, and 1 wedding only, so i want it nice. our guest list will be 40-50 people...i want it small.

i would want a professional photographer, but i really dont know if i could afford it....any one know of a cheap one in the louisville area?

any suggestions for saving money are welcome!!

AND, I CANT MAKE DECORATIONS, IM JUST NOT THAT ARTISTIC! i wish i could, but i just know it would be a disaster.

Do you have a picture of the water tower or maybe a link to a picture? I would like to see what you are talking about.

All that I can think of is go to the local college and as a professor of photograpy if he has a student that is very professional (aka can take very good photographs and develop them) and would be willing to help you for a small fee. Other than that all you can do (that I can think of) is ask the photographers you are considering to make a package for you of only the poses and moments from your wedding that you want (usually they will if you are on a tight budget).

What is your wedding them? Maybe I can help with some more ideas for stuff.

A good suggestions is look at your local dollar tree, dollar town, or store that is similar for things like candles/holders, candy, favors, and things of that nature.

If you are going to use silk flowers you can buy what you want at a dollar tree, walmart, craft store, ect. and take them to a local florest and ask her to make the arrangements out of them (they will charge you less because you didnt buy the flowers there).

I think the water tower will be a very pretty place to have a wedding and a beach/water theme would be perfect to go along with it.

Here is an idea that you might like and it is really simple to make and very cheap (believe me this doesnt require alot of artistic talent):
What you need: small fish bowls with fluted tops (looks like the floating candle bowl style c, but clear with fluted top), small clear candle holders (that will hold 1 inch candles), colorful glass bean jems in the color of your choice (see site for example), and candles. You can find all of these at walmart in the craft section (total cost per completed candle holder will cost about five dollars).

Take the small candle holder and place in the middle of the glass fish bowl and place the colored glass beans between the two candle holders, place the candle in the small candle holder. (When you light then candle it will give off an ocean water like effect, very pretty)
You can also buy sea shells insted of the gems and ocean scented poporii (sorry if i spelled it wrong) and mix them together and place between the two candle holders (when the candle is lit it will heat the poporii and give off the ocean scent). Or you can mix the two ideas and have some of each so that you get both effects. Source(s): Im from Kentucky and going throught the same thing also, I know how it is to have a tight budget to plan a wedding on.
i would say, look at ebay, great inexpensive wedding things. i am familiar with the water tower and i say go for it. you may find out who to contact from the town hall, should be able to point you in the right direction.
