Help Help Help .....I'm a Photographer?

I want to work professionally at a studio but I don't know how much I should make.

What percentage of a shoot should I make when packages start at $2000?

What is the salary?

How much should I make hourly?

I'm not expecting all of these but I don't know how they go about paying photographers at a professional studio.

I guess the question becomes, "why haven't you asked your employer?"

Usually employees (photographers or not) get either a per hour rate or salary. Not a percentage unless they bring in the work.

Think of working there as a paid education. Learn all you can about the business end and the techniques they use that are new to you and then in a few years, go out on your own after you have built up a good network of contacts.
