Prom question?

My relatives want to hire a professional photographer to photograph my prom date and me.

Ok, let me rephrase that. They want to hire a proffessional to take pictures of the limo, me and my date, our friends, just basic things like that.

Which type of photographer is that? Roughly how much does it cost? Is that even important enough to get a proffessional?

I wouldn't get a pro to do it yeah it's important but a disposible camera can do the same thing for alot less money, you should be spending all your time and money on prom not the pics of prom, i got a disposible camera and they turned out just as good

any kind of photographer can do it. diferent photographer's have diferent prices. and its not realy important to get a proffessional yur parents and family can take pix them selves by a digital camara and send them to emails and stuff. so i think a proffessional photographer is a wast of money when u can get a digital camara cheeper and u can use it when ever and wear ever and only pay for it 1 time. unless some 1 brakes it but if u have a warrenty on it, its ok just send it in and they will fix it.

Most schools have a professional contract photographer that sets up a background and is available to photograph each couple and groups for a small price, usually around $30 for different picture size combinations. That will probably take care of most of what you will want, and you can have your parents just take a candid of the limo. Check with your school that is hosting the prom and I think you will find that a photographer will be on hand. Hope this helps, good luck

A portrait photographer or event photograher that work on-site is what you are looking for.

If you decide to just take photos yourself, use a digital not a disposable. The flashes are not powerful enough on the disposables, and can result in really dark or grainy images if you're in a low light situation, or taking imagesphotos from far away.
I'd go with a decent digital camera.
