Is it hard to make it as a professional photographer?

Any suggestions as to how I can get started?

To get started, weddings.

Start small. Do a very small wedding. It is more to get a feel of how to do it, what works, how to control the situation, etc. You'll also find if you can work with people.

Getting the first real wedding job is not that easy. Once you get a few under your belt and the word spreads around that you're good, then all you need to do is deliver the goods and keep up your good name.

Then you can branch out from there.

It worked for me.

Yes it's very hard work no matter what type of photography you want to get into. It's more like a knife fight. From a clients prospective you must have a great background in business and sales as well as a top notch portfolio. To make your living as a photography you have to be willing to bust your *** day in and day out to meet deadlines.

My wife was a professional wedding photographer for years and well got sick of it (not sick of photography) It's a business and it became too much business and not enough art for her. Think about what aspect of photography you would like to get into. One that will satisfy your pasion as well as make you money is hard work always no matter what you do.

It is hard work, yes but if you enjoy it it's all worth it. An education of some sort helps as in any profession.
Nothings easy and a lot of other people are working hard for the same thing so you have to do the same in order to compete.

If it's something you really love to do and want to major in, then you can do it. Nothing is that easy, you just have to work for it. :)

yes. because everyone thinks they're a photographer. i would start by going to school, or working my *** off for free at a studio.
