FOR THE PROFESSIONALS ONLY PLEASE... what kind of photographer are you and about how much do you make per hour

and please don't answer with "it depends."

cause I already know it depends on what kind of photographer you are, and that some days you may work more hours than others, and that some of you get paid salary, etc.

Well, I'm not quite a professional yet... but I do intern for a wedding photographer and she charges $1000 for 3 hours or $5000 for the whole day, plus additional for prints and manipulation. On average, I'd say she probably makes around $400 per hour.

I do free-style, portrait and scenic photography. How much money I make, depends on what the job is. I don't work photography per hour, I work per job. When I do photo sessions for church, I earn money by the sale of photographs. I aim to sell to senior citizen, therefore my sales will be considerably less than usual. For corporate seminars and party sessions, I charge by the photo package of their choice.

maybe if I worked in the mall shooting screaming kids and holiday pics for families all day.

Its a negotiated rate by the job or by the day. Half day minimum. And yes. It truly depends on the client, the type of work, conditions, location, how much equipment setup and breakdown is involved and lots of other factors.

I try to be fair with every client but honestly a major corporation putting together a new ad campaign can afford to (and does) pay more than a 15 year old girl getting a few looks for a beginning protfolio. Weddings? Ive done some and prob will again but will take almost anything else first... too many bridezillas and well meaning mothers trying to direct the action instead of just letting me do my job.

i am a semi retired photographer now concentrating on landscapes , but when i owned and ran my own studio(weddings/portraits/commercial) some 10 years ago my commercial fee for a days shoot was 拢350 plus film and process, mileage etc at cost, weddings and portraits being approx. 拢28 per hour. hope this helps
