Its not like you're going to totally mess up a photo just because you're color blind.
I can't see any reason you would anyways. Its not like just because you can't see the colors "correctly" doesn't mean others can't.
I don't see how it could possibly be a problem, and like what was mentioned, Beethoven was deaf and he was an amazing musician.

Besides, who cares what anyone else thinks, if you love photography just do it anyway and screw everyone else. [my teenage-ness is showing.]

Absolutely. Color-blindness comes in many varieties, and is extremely rarely just seeing black and white. The most common is red-green color-blindness, which means you cannot tell the difference between the colors red and green of the same hue (not one darker or lighter than the other) that are right next to each other. This is a benign condition that many people live with easily and can do anything as well as anyone else, even photography. The instance of red and green of the same intensity right next to each other is not common, and when occurring is more than likely not significant enough to degrade the quality of the photo.

well, i once knew a colour blind guy that made a living mixing and matching paint colours (and he was good at it)
and i knew a blind fellow (blind as in could not see) that made a living painting houses...he also thought he could drive a car, the painting he did fairly well at, the driving cars did leave something to be desired (especially that nasty little issue of parking in stranger's living rooms)

Depends. If you're doing documentary-style photos, stuff like portraits or weddings, probably so. Trust the technology to keep things right.

If you're an artist, it could be a huge handicap. Or, I suppose, it could be "your look" to have misrepresented colors. Who knows what the market will bear?
