Digital camera EXPERTS.?

hey guys. alriight, im fourteen and looking for a cool point and shoot camera. i don't really care about the color as much as i care about the quality of the pictures it take, and the price. i dont have much money. i would say my budget is 200 dollars or lower. any idea on what brand names are good? my dad is some what of a professional photographer, and tommrow he is bringing me to buy a camera. he prolly wont let me get brands like kodak because he thinks they are bad. he likes brands like cannon and nikon - (ones with more expririence.) any advice on a good brand or camera? i pretty sure im going to sircuit city tommrow. i checked there site and all, i just wanted to know if you had any advice.

pleassee and thankkss!

Your dad is smart, Kodak really really blows.
200 isnt a lot especially for a digital camera.
Cannons 800 series is the best overall package I would say. You are looking at about $240 for that one.
I have a Panasonic Lumix which is awesome too, It has a bit less range than the cannon, but its close up pictures are great and its about $200 bucks.
Tell your father Lumix Uses LEICA lenses, photographers know this is an awesome camera company. This is why the pictures are great.
Sony's line is not bad, however Sony uses its own version of memory card, which costs most than SD cards and is only for their Cameras, so avoid it!
Olympus and Kodak are just way behind in digital technology.

If you want close pictures, go with Panasonic Lumix. If you want far away pictures, go with Cannon 800 series.

Edit: Almost forgot, Casio Exlim sucks too, low quality and a lot less ISOs (which means sucks when you are taking pictures of things in motion).

i have a casio exilim z9 and its exactly what you wanted b/c thats what i wanted lol. i even got mine from circuit city.

What about the Olympus FE230 (or something like that) It's about 180. I looked at it and it was a really nice camera. It' easy to use, and takes some pretty nice videos as well.
