Samsung u600 taking upto 10 seconds to take a photo???????

I just upgraded from a d600 and got a samsung u600 but it is driving me mad when i take photos i click the button and manage to count to 10 by the time it actually takes the pic is this normal? or are there settings to change it i can't seem to find anything and it doesn't say anything in the book my pics are coming out blurred or in most cases i take photo's of my children and before the pic is taken they walk off so i have lots of pics of the backs of my kids heads lol, please help as i only have a few days to send it back and if i could get the camera to go faster i would keep it, i know people have said buy a digital camera if i want perfect pics but i just think 10 seconds is a bit extreme, it takes a while to focus i can understand that but still 10 secs is too long the people i am taking pics of get impatient and walk off before the pic is taken lol

Well I dont have u600 but I guess the time that the camera takes is attributed to the slow 104Mhz processor... I think you have set the size to maximum 2048 x 1500 (or something like that).. Try changing the size of the snaps to 1600 x 1024 and it should take lesser time...

youve got it on delay shot timer goto camera then setting then timer and turn off

i have s samsung phone too. in camera there will be an options icon at bottom left, click that and take off all auto functions (flash, red eye exposure etc) quality wont be so good but you will get your subject.
