My digital camera pics are like 1 mb a piece, how can i change format to make them smaller?

i am using samsung digimax. i see pics that are like 100kb and even way less than that all over the place.

You can reduce the Resolution in the camera menus. This will cut the number of pixels in each pic, resulting in smaller files.

You can also change the Quality setting to a lower quality. This will increase the amount of JPEG compression, resulting in smaller files.

After the pic in transferred to the computer, you can use Resize to further reduce the resolution and increase the compression. The files will be even smaller.

However, all these actions reduce the size and quality of your pics. If you go too far, the pics will not be printable except at thumbnail sizes.

Most of the pics you see in the Web have been reduced so much that they are only good for viewing as small images on the webpage. They cannot be expanded to normal sizes or printed.

So please think about what you want to do with the pics before you cut the file sizes too much. If you only want to email them or put them on web pages, then small files are ok.

But if you ever want to print or enlarge or crop pieces out of them, you will need the pixels contained in those bigger files.

Good Luck

u can upload them ex like photobucket.com if u dont have an account just make one. you upload the pic then when its dont u click on the same pic make it large then left click and save as then u save it as anything u want and thats it it should be at least around 60 - 150 kb.

hope it helps!

Try to reset the camera then try

Many times people reduce the file on there computer before they upload it to the internet.

You should be able to change the settings in the menu. There should be a few different mega pixel settings (ie: 2592 x 1944, 2272 x 1704, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480). I don't know the exact possiblities because I don't know what model you have. There are also usually 3 settings for the quality low, medium, high (although they aren't normaly named that). You should be able to set either of these two options separately.
Also resizing or editing the images on the computer is very useful.
