A GOOD,yet INEXPENSIVE digital camera?

I currently have a Samsung Digimax A402,and it's a piece of crap!The pics turn out blurry,the zoom sucks,and it feels like a cheap piece of plastic!I bought it in Jan 06 as my first Digi Cam(it was only $98,my mistake),and I need a nice-LESS than $200,good quality new one.
NO MORE SAMSUNGS(they all look to plastic and cheap to me)

Nothing all fancy just a camera for anyday use for like pics of me with friends,family,concerts,etc.

This very second, right now, Sony C 875 digital camera with 8.0 Mega pixel for $139 at ecost.com.

Check it out.

Kodak Easyshare!

Sorry good ones are AT least $200
Try Canon or Olympus brands.
Sony cybershot is good too.

Digital cameras are not just about mega pixels Samsung might use poor optics never owned one... I have been happy with both Sony and Cannon but dont buy their cheapest models. ecost.com or compgeeks.com usually have good deals. happy hunting

After lots of research...my husband got me the Fuji Fine pix F40. It is the best camera for it's size and price range. Try http://www.bhphotovideo.com because they have good deals on things like this. Good luck.

First of all, sorry you got a samsung...yes, they are definitely CRAP! The Sony W55 is an awesome camera and $199 but you do need to buy a memory card. That usually runs around $30+ Honestly, in that price range, that is going to be your best bet. Anythig below $200 usually uses AA batteries, which means that you would have to spend $30 on regargable batteries bc regular batteries will only last in a digital camera for about 20 mins or like 5 pictures. The Sony W55 comes with a rechargable battery that lasts about 3+ hours. It has a nice screen that is covered in plastic so it will not break as easily. It is relatively simple to use and small and thin, making it easy to put in your purse or pocket and have on you all the time.

sony has good cameras from like 150$$

Even though I personally own this ultra compact camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:

1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time - 300 shots per set of rechargeables;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
4. It's very small and light;
5. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards;
6. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
7. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
8. Has tripod mount on bottom of camera;
9. And the price is a mere $119 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samys.com, and Staples.com; $99 at amazon.com]

Review(s) can be found at www.amazon.com [Query: "Nikon Coolpix L10" along with pictures provided by satisfied purchasers.]

Good luck!

Sony - Cyber-shot 7.2MP Digital Camera - Silver DSC-W55 It's new high in performance and cheap go to www.bestbuy.com

You got a lot of very good answers. I agree with all of them except maybe one. Kodak C875 is a good price as shown by one of your answerer's, but only average on battery life; and has no viewfinder. But $139 is good price.
Look for your better cameras in the $170 to $200 range. Fuji, Sony, and Canon. So you pay a bit more, but they will last a while.
a very fine camera is the Canon A630. 4X optical zoom, 8 megapixels. Beach Camera on line has it for $182+shipping.

You should get the PENTAX Optio W30. It has TONS of features, VERY good picture quality, its sleek & stylish. And to add to all that, its waterproof! You can see the camera here: http://www.pentaximaging.com/products/pr...
I have had the PENTAX Optio W10 (a slighty older version) for a few years now and I absoloutly LOVE it!
