is there way to waterproof a camera in a cheap way
i have a Samsung Digimax S700 It depends on what you want to do.
If you're planning on going diving you're out of luck. Some cameras have underwater housings so if your camera has one you can buy one and use it. Be aware though that doesn't mean you can go as deep as you like, the housing is only good up to a certain depth after which it will leak.
If all you're trying to do is put the camera a few inches (centimetres) below the water surface to get a picture of a fish or something, you can try protecting it in a zip lock bag. If you try this however, I'd test the idea in the sink first.
Seal the camera in the bag and immerse it a little bit in the water and watch closely for any leaks. If you see any leak immediately remove the camera and try another bag or give up. If there are no leaks, slowly lower it further into the sink until you hit the bottom. If there are still no leaks you can use that solution to about the depth of your sink.
I hope that helps a little. You'd be asking for trouble, and could easily risk ruining the camera.
If you just need to take a few underwater shots, they sell cheap, disposable waterproof cameras. I'd go with one of those.
If it's going to be something you do regularly, you're far better off buying a camera designed for that purpose. you should have baught it in the beginig
because if you r going to dive it is not just water proof
It is preassure proof |
