Can anyone recommend an easy to use digital camera available in the UK for less than 拢150?

I need a digital camera as I'm going to Russia in the Autumn and want to take some pics of all the beautiful sights but I've never owned one before so it has to be relatively easy to use. I'd like at least 3x optical zoom and probably a minimum of 4 or 5 megapixels.

I was looking at the Samsung S850 which looked pretty good, (8mp, 5x Optical, 2.5" LCD for 拢149 in Argos) but if anyone knows of any problems with it can they let me know please?

Also does anyone know what the shutter speed is like on that one?

Or can anyone suggest anything that might be a better bet?

Or do you know where I can get a good deal on a camera in London?

Or if there's anything in particular I need to look out for when buying a digital camera? I know that slow shutter speeds can be a nuisance but is there anything else to watch out for?

Go to www.Amazon.co.uk where you can buy digital cameras for around 拢100 cheaper than the shops. If you're willing to go slightly over, I would recommend the sony cybershot w100, which I bought for 拢170 on Amazon. It's a brilliant camera, 8.1 megapixel, really easy to use and you can change all the settings to get brilliant pictuures. Or you can simply select automatic mode and it does it all for you. Though if you have to stick to 拢150 you can buy the cheaper Sony models on Amazon which are still excellent cameras.

I treated myself to a sony cybershot DSC W30. It cost about 拢150 but then I had to pay for the duo stick and the camera card so it ended up about 拢180. But well worth it! It takes so many styles of photo's, with or without flash, by the sea, snow, brilliant sunshine, in the dark and it takes good videos! It's also small, slim, and light to carry around. It has 6megapixels and 5x zoom. Do what Dom does, go to a good camera shop and haggle on the price if you buy everything in the one place. And take the handbook with you on holiday! It comes in very handy with a new camera. Good luck!!

save your self some pennies and consider buying from morgan computer

looking at their site there a re mnay options under your budget
ranging form 3..7 megapixel cameras. On a brief scan there Olympus FE-120 looks a good bet

remember to budget for a memory card (most cameras come with a small memory card... try sevendayshop

you may also prefer a memory card reader to easily transfer images between camera and PC (most cameras allow transfer by cable.. but it can take a long time).

there are may option but woolworths were recently doing a camera and printer complete set for 拢99 down from 拢299,it is simply stock they had left from christmas,a great bundle at a fantastic price,my son got one and they are very simple just dock the camera on the printer and tell it whcih ones to print out and the quality is stunning,5.1 mp camera totally portable printer and you dont even need a pc if you dont want.failing that i would recommend argos due to the facility of extended guarantees at good prices and cheap too,ive nothing against mail order but it can be a pain should you need to use the warranty,ie waiting times for postage etc.

Try the Fuji FinePix S3500, it's cheap, and easy to use.
Available from most good camera shops..

Amazon do some good offers there's a Pentax 7MP for around 拢100

i would recommend canon powershot range i have had more than one and other members of the family have too i also use other canons

1stly agree with mark j FE-120 realy is a good basic point n shoot camera...if you want bit more advanced & more zoom try fuji finepix s500 or s5500 not to complicated exellent x10 zoom great pics..you can check out fuji on www.fuji.co.uk they have refurbished cameras for sale as well as community forums offering help & advice on usage as well as monthly photo comp.

but would def recommend buying from ebay its less than high street.i got both my fuji s500 & s5500 for 拢100 ret 拢200-拢250 ok they we're used but your going to use it arnt you..
