What is the best make of Digital Camera?

Im after a new Digital camera as my previous Samsung Digimax A7 stopped working after 6 months. I paid 拢165 for it and got a refund. I want to invest in a real quality camera for around the same price. Can you help me?

The best advice I was given about buying a digital camera was to buy one made by a company that has always made cameras. I bought a canon ixus and it's fantastic, reliable, handy sized and takes 7 megapixel pictures. We also have a kodak one in our house too, more professional but again it's brilliant. Try www.ciao.com/uk (I think thats the site) they do reviews and price comparisons.

I think Olympus FE140 is pretty good...
Had gifted it to my Mom and she luvs it too...
It has a pretty big prview screen and lots of cool features...
Also the shutter speed is very good and night time pic quality is alos gud...
Try it

I've had two Olympus digital cameras and both have been reliable with no faults

Canon Powershot is awesome.

All manufactured goods are going to have an occasional failure, I don't care if you spend $5,000 for a Nikon or Canon. One failure does not mean the whole product line is bad. Did you try another Digimax and it was bad also?

Saying that, I agree with one other person's view that you buy from a manufacturer that has the quality reputation. Nikon and Canon are at the top for a reason. They generally give you a quality product regardless of the price of the camera. If you want a Rolls Royce, don't buy a Kia. Quality generally costs more.

When buying a camera, pick what is best for you. Here are some things to look at:
1. Your budget
2. Zoom lens range (do you want more wide angle or more telephoto.)
3. Zoom magnification (3x, 4x, 10x, etc.)
4. Shutter lag - This is the time between when you press the shutter button to when it actually takes the picture. If you are shooting action or sports, the shorter the lag the better.
5. Noise - this is the equivalent of grain in film. All cameras have an ISO setting that takes the best photo. Most around 100. Some limitations are built into the camera software and some are in the lens. But, some are not acceptable no matter what.

After you have taken a couple of minutes to learn what is important to you, take another hour and find reviews on the cameras that meet your requirements. There are several sites that are excellent for reviews but don't limit yourself to them. They are: dpreview.com and steves-digicams.com. Or just Google something like "digital camera reviews Canon". Just insert the brand and/or model you want reviews on.

Good luck,

Norm

Depending on how much you want to spend a canon DSLR is a very good range of cameras.

ok, i think you'll like the canon eos rebel xti / 400d.

Get a Sony cybershot you wont be dissapointed,i guarentte.
