Is my digital camera dead? |
Yesterday at the Zoo i was taking a picture with my Samsung Digimax D53 digital camera and the screen blacked out, I thought it needed new batteries so I put in new batteries and it turned on fine, then I went to take another picture and it did the same thing. It was like as soon as I hit the button it would die. Then it got worse, I would try to turn it on and it would flicker and shut down again. Now the zoom feature is stuck out and it wont turn on. Is my camera totally broken? Can I get it fixed for cheap, or do I have to buy a whole new camera? where is the best place to buy a new camera! For CHEAP! lol I was having the exact same problem. The response to my plea for help totally fixed it and it has been fine ever since. Hope it helps! It depends on what you think is cheap and it depends on how much you like your camera. The minimum shop charge in most places is $100-125. You could probably get an estimate (a range of prices) over the phone if you try. It depends on what camera you own. It might be worth just buying a new one. There are so many available for under $200 that are pretty decent that you might want to shop for a new camera. Just a possibility before you give up (this happened to me at the zoo, lol), I dropped my camera and cracked the battery lid-thing (don't know if you dropped it or anything, but it might still be something to do with the battery compartment). It took me a second to figure it out, I thought I'd broken my camera at first, because it did the same 'turning on for a second' thing, but really it was just that the batteries werent connecting properly because the lid wasn't closing properly, so now I tape up the lid-thing and my camera works fine again. lol. |
