Videos from camera to computer not working??

okay i have a samsung digital camera.....i'v tryed uploading the videos from the camera to the computer through the usb hook up and hooking the memmory card straight to the comp.....i can see all the files on the computer either way but when i open them up to play..theres sound but no picture..why???

It sounds like a codec problem. Make sure you've installed everything you need from the camera's CD, and/or try grabbing the K-Lite Codec Pack: http://www.free-codecs.com/K_lite_codec_...

If you have a mini dv (cassette) camcorder鈥?
Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video, your PC probably did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, since most computers (except possibly brand new) don't come with a firewire port, your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too. Your camcorder did come with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder.

Save them first from the camera software to your hard drive. This should work. If not, write me.
