Digital camera - Rechargeable AA Lithium batteries...?

Anyone know if there is such thing as rechargeable AA lithium batteries?

I ask because my current digital camera drains most of my rechargeable batteries from 40 minutes to 60 minutes.

By the way, my camera is the Samsung S1050 ...which I've brought a few days ago for 拢100.

Thank you for viewing my post..

No, there are no such things are rechargeable lithium AAs. There's only the disposable kind right now.

Your camera drains your rechargeable AAs quickly? Then there's a few things to check:
1) make sure you're using NiMH batteries and not NiCd (Nickel Cadmium) rechargeables. NiCd won't last as long and they have a memory.

2) make sure your charger is actually charging the batteries adequately. Some chargers don't do as well as others. If you can, charge each battery by itself (a single channel charger) instead of as pairs (a dual channel charger) as the battery with the least charge can determine when the charger cuts off.

3) One final thing: many newer cameras really require a lot of current in a quick way. Rechargeable batteries with higher internal resistance may have lots of capacity, but may not be able to overcome the internal resistance to deliver it, sort of like a bicycle messenger who can't ride over too big a hill. You may want to look at Sanyo Eneloops or similar pre-charged NiMH batteries which have a much lower internal resistance (think: smaller hill to climb), which means the battery gives up current much more easily, resulting in a longer usable life. These kinds of batteries are sold as "pre-charged" NiMH rechargeables because they hold a charge for a long time when sitting on the shelf.

4) Practice good power management: don't leave the screen on when you're not using it. LCD screens really suck up power.

It doesn't look like there currently are any rechageable AA lithium ion batteries. I think it is mainly due to the fact that lithium ion cells have a much higher voltage (3.6 volts) than AA batteries (1.5 volts). I believe some cameras that take AA batteries also have rechargeable lithium ion battery packs but those packs are specific to the camera.

Two things I think you could do. Buy the highest capacity NiMH batteries you can find ( 2900maH). Or if you already have a bunch of NimH batteries, charge them all up and then using a digital meter read the voltages on them. Find a pair that has the highest voltages and use those. You may find that pair last a bit longer.

There is, or used to be. I don't know if they still exist.

I know at the camera store I worked at, they were recalled and we switched to NiMH or Nickel Metal Hydride batteries and everyone liked them the same as they did like the lithiums.
I think lithiums carry 'memory' which can reduce the amount of charges a battery can take- whereas NiMH does not.

I have not seen any. Even lithium ion batteries dont last ages. I have two digi cams one using 4 aa's the other a lithium ion. They both last about the same time althoug my aa' camera has more features. I think its one of those things we have to accept, changing batteries a lot with digi cameras.

Hello

The reason your batteries are draining at the speed of light is because you are using the wrong ones.
The only batteries you should use is Alkaline batteries.
They specialise in camera use

I hope this imformation is useful

Buy at least 2600 mAh NiMH batteries. Charge them the night before you're going to use them. They discharge themselves even they are not in use. Modern digital cameras should be able to take at least 100 shots with a pair of NiMH AA.

your rechargeable batteries must say 2500 or 2700 on the side.
