Can I charge a 1300mAh rechargable battery using a different brand battery charger meant for 2100mAh?

Mine's a NiMH rechargable. My battery are AA size meant for digital camera. The batteries are GP brand 1300mAh while my charger is Sanyo meant for 2100mAh.

The short answer is maybe. The 1300mAh stands for 1300 milliamp-hours. This only tells you the capacity of your battery and does not really make a difference when charging them. It only makes a difference of how long it will last in your device. What does matter is the voltage of the charger. For NiMH you want a 1.25V NiMH charger only. Also, you should never charge NiMH rechargeable batteries in a charger NOT meant for NiMH batteries. It could ruin both the charger and the batteries.

After using the batteries for a while they go down to about 50% capacity and stay there like they were meant to be that strong so if the charger damages them then the charger isn't working good.
