Im wanting to get a digital camera?

but im buying it myself and im on a budget!
i was looking at walmart.com and found some that i think would be good..however im not too sure

the ones that i found were hp & sanyo & polaroid.
are those good brands??

all were a reasonable price but i dont want to get cheated.

and suggestions??
thanks =]

check http://www.microcenter.com they have great stuff and great prices and http://www.newegg.com I've only ever shopped at microcenter's brick and mortar store though I LOVE my Nikon L2. Pretty much anything Nikon is great, plus at 7.1 megapixels it only cost me 100-150$

i bought myself a DXG 506v
it takes 5.5megapixel pictures,
it can take full color / sound videos,
has a seperate sound recorder,
and has an mp3 player in it

i got it for $130 at...
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...

If you feel that's your only choices, look elsewhere. Check these stores via internet.
Beach Camera
Adorama
Abe's of Maine
B&H Photo
Brands to look for in my opinion would be Fuji, Canon, Sony and Nikon.
You never mentioned how much you care to spend. But consider a Canon around $135-. If you're thinking of spending just $85 or $90- Don't. Just save a bit more.
The above stores many times are cheaper than say Best Buy even with shipping charges; and each is reputable.

Polaroid is really bad quality, hp is okay, and I've never heard of sanyo. The brands to go with are casio, sony, and nikon.

I've been very happy with my Fujifilm Finepix F10. Since it's two years old, a new one will cost $150. That would be a good camera for a beginner. You might have to order it online since it's so old though.

This is only my opinion but as far as cameras go there are only two brands Cannon and Nikon. Nikon has a boat load of good cameras in there cool pix series. Like anything else, if you by a really cheap camera you get really cheap results.
