It has to be under $300. I want something that's sleek and slim, yet takes good-quality pictures. I don't want anything that immediately stops working right after the warranty expires. It doesn't have to be up to professional-standards, I just need something that can take nice-looking pictures without being too bulky. With 300 dollars you have a lot of choices really.
You can get the new Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 7.1 mega pixel camera that comes in 4 different popular colors (silver, black, blue,and pink) and I recommend that one because according to reviews and sample pictures that one takes better pictures than the more expensive Sony brand cameras apparently. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Cybershot-DSC... (this one only cost 200 dollars on average)
But I personally recommend a canon, they're popular for their beautiful quality images and cameras which I think is why they're so popular, A lot of them are bulky, but with a 300 dollar budget , I'm sure you can purchase a slimmer one like the new Powershot SD1000 which takes good quality pictures, has a lot of features, and is slim, and sleek, although it does have an old fashion square shape.
Here's a link to that one (This website sells the camera's for the cheapest, and is also secure, only 15 bucks for shipping and the camera itself cost a lot less than 300 dollars so if you want to spend all of that you can buy yourself a high storage sd card and a case and maybe more.)

Other than that I don' think I can give you more advice on which camera to buy, but don't worry about the money, with that budget you can get a very decent camera and still have enough for your sd card and case and all, just shop around before you buy from one store, It's usually cheaper online, believe it or not, the camera I just gave you a link to is about 80 bucks more expensive in some online and retail stores.
shopping for cameras and most everything else is really simple on www.amazon.com because they categorize the features of the cameras (brand, mega pixels, zoom, price) so it's really easy to find what you're looking for. And another awesome thing about amazon is that on almost all of their items they have user reviews so you can read words from people who already have the item , and for cameras, they sometimes have sample pictures from consumers also(this info is for if you've never shopped using amazon before), but anyways, if you see something on amazon, or any other online store, google the name of the item before you buy it there, most likely there's an online store that sells it way cheaper. Just make sure that it doesn't say "refurbished" though.
For purchasing cameras this website is pretty helpful to, it lets you search or pick for a camera and you can see sample pictures taken by real nonprofessional people to see the quality, etc of most of the cameras for sale out there it's called www.pbase.com you just click on search- cameras- pick the brand-and then pick the camera model, and you have a lot of sample pictures at the tip of your fingers. Do a Google search on the GE A730, and the GE A830. They are brand new and look like they will be good cameras. I would like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:
1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
4. It's very small and light;
5. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
6. And the price is a mere $120 [sold at Samy's Camera, Staples.com.] |
