So if I go with this digital camera?

If I go with a sleek/slim Kodak EasyShare 7.1 digi camera, which would be the best 1GB secure digital card to go with it?

The camera is for vacations,friends,etc....
Any viewpoints on my camera choice as well would be welcome. THanks in advance to all.

The two major card makers are Lexar and SanDisc. After those two, you can find Kodak, Kingston and other brands that produce very good cards, but at lower prices. If the cards are sold by a store known to you, it will perform as advertised.

I have been using cards made by K-Data, pqi and Transcend for a number of years with no failures -- If the card has the diamond with the letters "CF" in it, the CE and FC symbols they must meet certain standards.

I haven't purchased a 1GB card for a while, but looking at the current prices, you should be able to find one for under $30

SanDisk... I feel thats the best. But it's just personal opinion.

Sandisk or Lexar are the best on the market right now.
