Point & Shoot Digital Cameras Question - - - Do you recommend a "slim & sleek" or "standard" model?

"Slim" meaning you can slip it into your shirt pocket. "Standard" meaning it has a wide part on the side for an easier grip.

Would you be inclined to take more photos if the camera fit easily into a pocket or purse? Is it likely you'd leave it home at times because he was inconvient? If so, get a small one. If you're afraid that a small one would be hard to hold comfortably, go to a store and see which ones you like. Image quality is generally high for most of the new cameras by name brand companies, like Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fuji, and others.

i would sigjest a camra that is 5 mega pixels or more but remimber u dont need any more so u will be wasiting your monny on it another thing i would not worry about looks to much and more on the screen size so u can see your picters another thing u will need a memory card and the rule of thumb with them is buying the bigest one u can afored with out worrying on the brand with momry all the brands are the same

so get a camra the u feel comfertible holding and u will want a 5 mega pixels camra but u dont need any more and u want as much memory (sd card or what ever size the camra takes but sd card are cheper so i would get a camra the use them )


and do not letisn when the sells perosn say that more mega pixels means better quilty

yes 5 mp is fine. you would never see a differenc e in 5 and 7.
watch out on buying memory cards online..there are some scams going around..buy local and i agree the name isnt a big deal.

also yes not to worry about what it looks like..if you want a slim one for your pocket..get it..if you want one with more features..get it..go to thr store and look,, try them..see what you like.

I feel you pay more for tiny and sleek compared to standard compact. All things being equal, price these cameras and see if I'm right. Compare: optical zoom, megapixels, manual controls, maybe image stabilizer?
Of my 2 cameras one is a Fuji E900. It's a bit smaller than regular compact, but I can fit it in my shirt pocket. 4X optical zoom, 9 megapixels, slightly larger sensor than most. Manual controls. Gives me excellent 11X14 print.
Again, in my opinion for tiny and cutsie you pay more than what you should.
