What's a good camera for a 12 year old? |
Okay well it's christmastime and I'd really like a digital camera or so. I'm a girl in love with gadgets and electronics, but I don't need anything really flashy and it doesn't have to be PINK. My brother's getting it for me, and I don't want to burn his pockets. It doesn't have to be expensive, I'm only 12 you know. I WOULD like the pics to come out a little nicely, outdoor or indoor. I had the Oregon Scientific DS6618 and it was okay. Slim and slender, it was small and portable. Anyone have any ideas on which camera to buy? I just bought a Kodak Easyshare 7.1 MP camera at Radioshack, but they also sell them at Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Office Max and Office Depot. The 6.1 MP is cheaper, so that would probably be best. I love my camera, it has so many awesome features, and it is extremely easy to use (so easy, you don't even need the manual they include). I paid $130 for mine, which is an excellent price for something of this quality, and the best part is it comes with a charger! No matter what camera you buy, make sure it runs on a RECHARGEABLE batter, because buying disposables is gonna cost you more in the long run. I just can't get over how awesome this camera is! It's really tiny, and you can also record video (but they come out in quicktime format, however, you can easily convert it). The pics come out crystal clear, and 7 megapixels means HUGE PICS! There are black/white & sepia filters, and also several different modes for taking pictures. I used the sport mode while I was riding on the train, and the pictures still came out absolutely perfect! I had a hard time finding it in the store, everywhere I called was nearly sold out! I understand why though, this is an awesome camera~! I think Canon has a good line of cheap, high quality picture cameras. Cheapest I saw was about 150. well at target they have an 80 dollar camera its a Polaroid Kodak easy share c513. |

For sleek, small, and cutsie you do pay a pretty high price. The Sony DSC-W80 is a good price at $200- it's also a very decent camera. They work great! for only $89!! ...It's all a matter of what your looking for. Some are easier to use than others. If you are looking for a better quality camera usually Nikon and Cannon are the way to go. Sony isn't to... Sony blows. Seriously. I have worked for both Kodak and Sony as a sales rep at Best Buy, Circuit City, and Sears. I didn't stick around in either job because I didn't like the products an... digital camera and Windows 98 ... that what may be a concern. ask at PC World. Practika is a good camera. Just try to get as high resolution as you can afford ...I think that ebay has some really cheap cameras but you do get what you pay for.
