I need your opinion on a digital camera...? |
I am about to head out the door to buy my 22 year old daughter a camera for Christmas. I am looking for it to be around $200, slim, point and shoot, able to take several pictures without delay, any suggestions? Go with a subcompact digital camera with 7 megapixels, 2.5" LCD [238,000 pixels] and a regular viewfinder. Comes with a rechargeable lithium battery [which produces around 120 pictures via the LCD or 240 pictures via the viewfinder] and charger. Extra third-party lithium batteries sell for around $7.00. Stores 665 ulta-fine images on a 2-meg SD memory card and sells for $150.00 [without CA tax] thru Wednesday, December 12 at samys.com. It's the Canon PowerShot SD1000 and they are selling very fast. Check out the 400+ rave reviews by very satisfied purchasers at amazon.com Cant pass a Canon my and still going strong Most point and shoot cameras shoot continuously at about 2 fps or slower and depending upon the buffer in the camera can sometimes shoot continuously for over 10 images (depending upon the resolution of the camera) You can get a camera with more features for the same money if you pick one with a 6MP sensor. The practical difference in image quality when printed up to 8x10 inches is negligible when compared to a camera with a 10MP sensor in the point and shoot camera lines |

I would get a PSP Slim & Lite. You know that a PSP can actually record videos and take pictures by using a Go! Cam just like a normal digital camera does. Unfortunately, it isn't available... id buy the 19" sharp 720p lcd tv.. $190 at circuit city so $60 left over for an upscaling dvd player.. if you have patience, you can find some pretty amazing deals at www.slickdeals.net in ... I just bought a Kodak Easyshare 7.1 MP camera at Radioshack, but they also sell them at Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Office Max and Office Depot. The 6.1 MP is cheaper, so that would probably be best... For sleek, small, and cutsie you do pay a pretty high price. The Sony DSC-W80 is a good price at $200- it's also a very decent camera. Image quality is quite good. ...Would you be inclined to take more photos if the camera fit easily into a pocket or purse? Is it likely you'd leave it home at times because he was inconvient? If so, get a small one. If you... most cameras these days are pretty slim. Based on what you are looking for I would have to say take a look at the casio line of cameras. They are some of the slimest of the slims and are usually ... |
