Beginning photographer?

Can you recommend a good digital slr for a beginner like me who wants to eventually produce good shots? However, I'm certainly not ready for a 4k camera w/out experience, wouldn't you think? (even if I do have the money).

K, let me clarify. I have had a lot of experience with point 'n shoots but they no longer get the results I want bcz I'm demanding to much from 'em. I wanna upgrade to something with a lot more picture-potential & be able to change lenses. I call myself a beginner bcz I really don't know all that much about 'pro' photography.

I would recommend the Nikon D70.... since the D200 came out you can find a D70 for around 500.00 (body only). With the D70 you have 6.1 megapixels and you can buy lenses aswell. It also has a "hot shoe" so you can add an external flash.

Then once you get used to that and you want to become more pro. a Canon EOS 20 or 30D will treat you nice as well as the D200. But you will have to spend around 1000-2000 dollars.

idk how old r u

i dont kno

I think you can try digital camera first, it is automatic and very easy to use. And the modes in it can also help you to take any shot you want, (for example macro!) But practicing can help you to gain some new technic!

The Digital Rebel XT is about the best bang for the buck. It is 8.1 megapixels, has fully automatic modes that most low and mid-range cameras have, and it has the fully customizable modes that where you can control aperture, shutter speed, iso, and flash settings. You can usually pick one up for around $700-900, and you'll probably want to get some lenses too. It usually comes with a 18-55mm lens. It's pretty standard lens, but you may want to purchase a 70-300mm telephoto lens and something like a 28-80mm lens to cover the gap.

Depending on what you're interested in photographing, either one is about as good a camera brand. You're sure to see more Canon users at some sporting events and possibly more Nikon at other venues such as fashion. BOTH camera brands make good pro-sumer cameras and lenses, and both also make "professional" level cameras that are outstanding and very good.

If both cameras are comparable in price range, why don't you just go any camera shop and ask to hold both cameras and see which camera feels more comfortable in your hands? At comparable price ranges, what you're really looking for is the comfort of use and how easy it is for you to find the buttons, knobs and switches for options. Even sales personnel have their own preferences (Nikon, Canon, etc) so just get what FEELS better in your hands.

Good luck and best wishes.

Well you can buy one of those photography books and maybe a lesson or two then you can do well on your own. my sister did it and now she's great and on her way to becoming famous.

The answer to your question is in my question about finding the best all around digital camera for less than $200- hp photsmart 435 is the one I currently use.
