KODAK cameras+ Professional use? |
Kodak make some brill digi-compacts and near-bridge-type cameras. My Z650 has really pleased me with features, manual controls, Schneider Kreuznach 10X lens, image clarity, colour saturation and design of the camera both aesthetically and ergonomically. I live in a Kodak town! this question is being asked by the public for a long time. And I am almost 95% sure that Kodak will NOT start to make Digital SLR's, if they do, they will loose lot of money because Digital SLR market is run by Canon these days. Kodak is already wayyyyyy behind the digital technology as it is and there is no way the company can survive if they enter into the SLR market. Even in film SLR's Kodak wasn't a big share holder of the market, people were using Canon, Nikon and Minolta. People who still have film SLR's like Canon and Nikon (I have Canon Film SLR) lens are compatible with Canon Digital SLR's as well. So I don't need to buy extra lens to be used in a Canon Digital SLR. If lets say Kodak decided to start producing Digital SLR's, people have to buy the camera and the lens to along with it, which is going to be too pricey and no one will bother with it. So, NO SLR DIGITAL for Kodak. I hope they won't because that will tarnish the image of the company even more. My family owned a Kodak digital camera that last us about a year. Beyond that, it died. It lost focus to easily and the power died a lot (even with new batteries). Kodak aren't a great company for professional cameras. Kodak does not aim for quality but for quanity, Ive had 2 Kodaks in the last 2 years and both never lasted me more than a year. I would say no because professionals do not want to hassel with poor quality, replacing stuff every year because the battery just dies every year. Might as well not have a rechargeable battery the way Kodak makes theirs. |
