Which lense is better, Nikon 80-200 f4.5-f5.6 macro zoom or 28-80 3.5 5.6? |
I have a N70 with these lenses and want to get a D80 slr camera...I think these lenses work on the digital, but to tell you the truth I have never really used my camera..I always wanted a digital...so whats the differenece between the lenses and what would you recomend for family photos, weddings..etc??? Or should I just buy different lenses all together for the D80? You've got the range for most photography pretty well covered. You might want a bit more on the wide end, though. Because of the 1.5 crop factor, your 28 mm will behave like a nearly-normal 42 mm lens (35 mm equiv.). Since digital is FREE to experiment with once you own the camera, I say just get the D80 body and play around with what you have to see what you like. You're welcome. Enjoy! Report It The main difference in those lenses is the zoom range. They will both be more telephoto on a digital camera, by a factor of about 1.5x, so you will need something more in the wide range. If you already have those lenses, then anything that starts at 18mm will cover that. You could even go with the 18-200mm lens and have a lens for just about any situation. The downside is the cost and availability of the lens. It's expensive and frequently sold out. All the lenses you have for your N70 will work very well with your D80. |
