What should my first camera be? |
I'm a broke *** student who is looking for an SLR film or digital and finding it difficult. Not because there is a lack of them but because they are fairly expensive. Especially for me or someone in my position... I'm a student with a tight budget who is looking for an SLR film or digital and finding it difficult. Not because there is a lack of them but because they are fairly expensive. Especially for me or someone in my position... I find it difficult to recommend a film camera to a student in your position, even though they would be quite a bit less expensive. You could probably pick-up a used camera body from ebay or even in the 'used' department of a camera store for very little money. (Well, EVERYTHING about photography is expensive. I was able to turn my hobby into a profession, and now it's paying off.) But with a film camera you have the on-going expense of film and processing. That can add up to quite a bit, if you shoot very much! Do you really want an SLR? Canon has a great SLR-like camera. It's the S3 IS. It's a wonderful digital camera and averages on $350. That's relatively cheap compared with similar cameras. You can check it out here: go to yahoo shopping If you go film, you will pay far more in reality. So I suggest digital. Next time mention the top amount you can spend. People here can pinpoint cameras to recommend in your price range. |
