hey, ive seen that site a few times and have avioded it, it just seems a bit dodgy, i ordered my d80 off purelygadgets.com and it was quite cheap, although i have heard a few dodgy things about them too, but i was fine

I'm not very sure about the website, but it looks like there are contact numbers where you can call in to know further.

Regarding the price the D40x is about 405 pounds at Dixons(assuming you're in UK)... i would rather pay a little extra to get it from somewhere reputable.. this would really be useful if there are any warranty issues that may follow. Plus you may rest assured that you are getting a good product and not factory rejects, or etc.

Lewis, you keep asking about "fake" Nikon D40x's. If you are THAT concerned, then you should shop at a local camera dealer where you can handle it personally.

I agree with George. We have literally hundreds of people coming here asking questions about cameras and I don't remember anyone beside you who has expressed concern about buying a counterfeit camera. Certainly not as much concern. It would be worth it for your own peace of mind to buy from a reputable dealer and forego the slight savings you might get at someone you fear is "dodgie" and might sell you a fake. I said before, if you try to register a fake camera, Nikon will TELLYOU that the number is not valid and you can return it. I've never heard of a fake D40x and I can't find anything about fakes using an internet search. You do hear about fake memory cards, but not fake cameras. It would cost a knock-off company about the same as it costs Nikon to even make a camera that takes pictures, so it's not worth their time.
