Does any one know what would happen if you were to put a digital only lens on a 35mm SLR? |
I am not going to do this, I do not want to ruin my camera body and/or lens, but I was just wondering. I have a Nikon D50 and Nikon N65. The D50 came with an 18-55 mm 3.5-5.6 DX lens. All my other lenses I can use on both my cameras, but this one I cannot. I was just wondering. The Nikon DX digital lenses can be used with no harm on most recent Nikon 35mm SLRs (don't try on an older manual focus camera). I think the lens is closer to the mirror so it will hit or something like that. Are you talking about a lens for a digital slr with a smaller sensor than 35mm? I wouldn't try it. Sell it and get yourself a good quality lens. If the Lens is compatible with Both 35MM SLR and Digital The earth would stop rotating on its axis and there would be chaos and destruction. Dogs would run happy and gay with cats. The sky would turn black. The media would report on some of the good things Bush has done. Pandemonium, I tell ya, pure and udder chaos. The 18-55 DX has a smaller image circle than regular lenses. At the wide end of the zoom, this would result in severe vignetting - like that cheap effect on tv shows when you supposedly look through a periscope. You'll get dark corners. Just try it on a few shots and see. |
