Between AU$250- $350 preferrably. I like higher megapixels, auto-focus and other features. I like Digital SLR's but they are too expensive. ARe there any cameras with maybe the same performance as an expensive camera like the SLR's for much cheaper? I don't mind what brand. The maximum is probally up to $500. my suggestion

I have had the PENTAX Optio W10 (a slighty older version) for a few years now and I absoloutly LOVE it! Looks like Mark copied all of the sales literature from Sony.
Sony makes very good cameras. I have one, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2. 6 megapixels, 12X optical zoom. Has image stabilizer, auto and manual controls and is very good on AA rechargeables.Only 1 second delay between shots. If you like plenty of zoom, equally as good are these cameras. Fujifilm FinePix S5200, and Canon PowerShot S2 IS.
Canon makes a bunch of fine cameras, one of which is the PowerShot A630. 4X optical zoom, 8 megapixels. Everyone of these cameras I mentioned so far will give you an excellent 8X10 print.
PS if you do spend around $500 then by all means spend a BIT more and get a DSLR by either Nikon or Canon. |
