What are the equipment I need to be a landscape photographer....?

Questioned as above,

as Ive been photograping, being my favorite hobby, I learned my true passion is landcape.

I am going to use my dads slr camera as my digital camera is useless.

What do I need... Lens etc...

TRIPOD, wide angle lens, learn about "golden hour".

Depends on what you are shooting as in across a pond, a long lens, wide angle was always my choice, I always had a 24mm on my Nikon. With my Kowa Super 66 it was a 55mm or smaller. My effort was to show detail and depth, f16 or better, slow film and shutter. Kodachrome 24 transparency film or Fujicolor later became my favorite. Agfa was good too. Now with digital, you can make wonderful things happen.
Take a good course to see if you can learn some techniques from a pro. Read everything you can, by great photographers, look at the work they did. Don't duplicate it but learn from it. Find your own perspective, that's the key.

A 4x5 view camera, and a $10,000 dollar a year film budget.

But seriously, an slr, tripod, a decent wide prime lens, and some very slow film should do it.

You will get great sharpness from even an inexpensive prime lens, where as a zoom will give you more flexablity you will not get suitable image quality for landscape.

Oh and make sure you are using an apature between f/2.8 and f/11. anything below f/2.8 has the potential for softness. anything above f/10 starts to suffer from diffraction,

Get a nice 20mm-80mm lens. Put it on a tripod, with a narrow aperture, and there you go.
