Is it possible to see the landscape through the LCD monitor when shooting with a Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 10.2 Megapixel, SLR, Digital Camera with Sony Zoom DT 18-70mm f3.5-5.6 Lens? I got this camera but do not how to use it. To start with, I would like to know how to set it so I can use this feature instead of looking through the viewfinder. You can't. The LCD screen is only intended for using the menu and for reviewing pictures. It's the same with just about every digital SLR camera. DSLRs, including the Sony A100, work differently than digicams. They use a ccd that doesn't spit out video in real time, so- there is nothing to show on the LCD. Also- there is a mirror in front of the ccd that bounces the light up into the optical viewfinder. So- no light is even falling on the ccd. Such is life, and one of the downsides to nearly every DSLR Sony, Nikon, Pentax can't do it |
