Hello, I am looking for some good advice on what brand and/or model of digicam I should go for.
I have always been partial to Olympus, but I see less than stellar reviews on them recently.
I have been to steves-digicams already, and as good of a site it is, it's also overwhelming.
I want a point and shoot that has that SLR look. Minimum 5.0 MP and at least 3X optical.
I am going to be using it primarily for personal use, but some professional that requires a little more quality at times.
I am not looking to break the bank on one, but I realize those wants come at a price. I am looking at $200 range, and not any higher than $250.
So what do all you professionals out there think would work for me? Fuji FinePix S7000!

About 230 USD on Ebay. you might want to try the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1. It has 5.0 MP and 10x Optical/4x Digital Zoom, and many other great features. It also has that SLR look to it which you wanted. At around $235 its not bad. Check out this link for more info: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/42... Fujifilm FinePix S700, 7.1 Megapixel, 10x Optical/4.8x Digital Zoom. B&H has this for $215.95. It looks "sort of" like a DSLR. The S6000fd looks a lot more "professional," but it is selling for just over $300. The S6000fd has a $50 rebate from Fuji though and it's not clear to me if the $301.95 price reflects the rebate or not. I THINK that's the selling price and THEN you send the UPC and stuff to Fuji to get your $50 rebate. The rebate ends June 30, though, so I'd suggest you call B&H TODAY and ask. (see below)
Here's a review and you can judge the "SLR-like" appearance for yourself. This is a decent "crossover" camera, too.

B&H Photo is showing 2 used Canon Powershot S2-IS cameras in "9 out of 10" condition for less than $200. It's decent, but not black, so it doesn't look a lot like an SLR to a half-experienced observer. Tain't a pro, but you might consider my camera. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2. 6 megapixels, 12X optical zoom, takes excellent 8X10s, comes with battery charger, very good on AA rechargeable batteries, has image stabilizer and has manual controls if you don't want aperture or shutter speeds on auto.
