Whats the best brand etc for a digital camera around 拢100?

The camera companies (Kodak, Canon, Nikon, etc.) usually have better digital cameras than the electronics companies (like Sony, Panasonic, etc.). Check reviews online and epinions.com and decide which is the best for you.

slr allows you to cahnge the lenses:

wide angle
zoom etc.
But if you just want it for basic images, and you only want to spend about 拢100, then I wouldnt worry!
