Whats the best compact digital camera for speed?

I want to be able to capture the image I'm seeing when I press the button so the camera would have to have a fast processor I guess. I would like decent image quality as well but I'm unlikely to blow the pictures up any bigger then A4. I can spend up to 拢300 but do not want an SLR.

its the auto focus that causes most of the delay

get one with manual focus and it will be faster than any on auto

P&S cameras have horrible shutter lag and slow auto focus.

If you want almost instantaneous shutter actuation, you'll need to look at a SLR/DSLR type camera.

Fujifilm cameras have fast speeds. They are certainly fast enough for action pics. You can get models well inside you budget.

I should contact Jessops, they are normally the cheapest and I think they have a freephone enquiry line as well.

You can turn on the camera and take a picture without flash in 2 seconds (literally) maybe even a little less than that.

With flash it takes something like 1.8 seconds to get ready for the next picture without i think its 0.8
