Compact Digital Camera with date and time stamp needed .. ?

Seems like it used to be a feature on earlier camera's and are doing away with it !
Not a SLR please.
A decent midrange compact one to capture still images, needs to be rugged, user friendly & have optical zoom
Was eyeing the Sony Cybershot DSC S650 / S700, but alas they do not seem to have this time stamp feature, which i need

All digital cameras "stamp" their image files with not only the date and time, but the shutterspeed, f/stop, camera name and model as well as other statistics. That information is stored in the EXIF portion of the file and is viewable with most photo programs. This saves ruining part of your images with some ugly orange alphanumeric strip across the bottom of the image.

Proving when you took a photo is still based upon having the date time on the camera set correctly to start with. The information on the file (except for a few DSLR's with Image Authentication) probably will not stand up in court as evidence.

For convenience, just write the information you want on the back of your print in pencil. We all did this for decades before date stamp backs became available

Everything you ever want and more is now in the software metadata of every digital camera for each digital image.

Samsung S500/S600, etc, etc.
