I need a digital camera that takes good action shots? |
I have now bought 5 diff digital cameras and each time I buy one I specifically ask for one that is good with action pictures...Apparently the employees do not know cameras because everytime I try to take pictures of sporting events, the pictures come out very very blurry. I Dont want to buy an SLR but I heard that there are advanced point and shoot digital cameras? Anyone OWN one of these types of cameras and have used them at sporting events that could tell me what brand/model/quality of action shots? i highly recommend you starting off with canon [ canon s3is ] with 12x zoom and 1/3200 max shutter speed. the zoom is tremendous compared to regular cameras which has only 4x. remember this 12x zoom is all optical, which mean the quality is retained as you zoom far away. the lens is also high quality and is good for low light situation, but since you said you want action sporting events then the light should be more than enough for the camera. to do this you have to either go on manual or shutter priority and set the shutter speed to about 1/800 of a second and your pictures will look frozen. go a little faster say 1/1200 and you'll be able to see individual droplets of water from splash of the pool on a swimming event, given the lighting is adequate. the price is about $300 and im sure you can get one for significantly lower price. I suggest the Cannon Rebel XTI. I bought one a year ago and have taken pics at Nascar races, tubing behind a boat and baseball games. You would just need to change the sutter speed. Report It I believe you will only be satisfied with the ability to shoot sports if you use an SLR. I have not found a point and shoot that that performs the focus and then writes to the card fast enough to shoot action. I use Canon rebel and also 20D. Any SLR digital will work. Report It the Fujifilm Finepix F30 has a max shutter speed of 1/2000. Report It Wow how much money do you want to spend on a camera? It's not the camera, but the photographer who takes good action shots. Report It There are a few things to look at for action shots. ISO, Aperture, Shutter speed. Last but not least, shutter lag (How long after the button is pressed is the picture taken). Really your best bet is an DSLR. Report It I currently own an HP M537 Point & Shoot 6.2 MP Digital camera. It has special settings for AUTO - Close Up - Steady Photo - Theater - Landscape - Portrait - Action - Night Portrait and Sunset. I haven't tried all of these, but I have tried the action and it works great. Report It If you need to take action shots often you may want to seriously consider a DSLR, like the D2H, it is going to run you some serious dough, a couple thousand or more Report It the new sony H9 will do the job, it takes pretty cool pictures with the sport mode!!!! Report It You will probably want to look for a camera that has variable shutter speed and aperture control. Manual controls on both of these features would be helpful. The faster the shutter speed the better capability you have at taking fast-speed photos, like sports. Be advised though that faster shutter speed equals less light coming into the camera, which is why you need manual aperture control to open the aperture. Maybe this is helpful. Hi, |
