Okay... I'm looking for a digital camera. I don't want to go SLR - I don't want to deal with the bulkiness, however I do want some manual options.
It's important to me that it be able to run on AA batteries - I'm bad about remembering to recharge and I want to be able to drop some AAs in it if I need to.
Also, I want video mode, including sound.
The kind of memory card isn't important, and neither is price, although I'm aiming to stay under $500.
I'd like to be able to take decent Macro shots, but mainly this is for shooting shots of people and/or scenery. I usually print 8 x 10"s or less, but wouldn't mind being able to print bigger.
Power-on time isn't too important to me, but lag time is... I've used cameras that are slow before and I want one that quickly takes a picture as soon as I hit the button. Also, the quicker between photos, the better.
I have a Fuji FinePix that is a few years old that I like. How is the Pentax brand? I haven't heard of it until recently. Pentax is older as a brand than Fuji, but I think Fuji became more of a presence in digital cameras than Pentax early on.
