What is a good digital camera for a beginner?

I always use Canon and I recommend that you buy Canon's Powershot A430. It's good value coz it's a great brand, excellent resolution and gives you pretty good optical zoom, which is basic for high resolution zooming! Also, it is a power tool when you learn to use it (it has tons of options beyond your imagination, very creative pictures can be taken and a lot of artistic tools) and you can always use the most simple options for the point and shoot. (Automatic). I simply love Canon!
