Can a SLR Lens (Minolta 1.2) fit on a digital camera and is there any advantage to doing it. Tks.. Flip? It should fit on a Minolta digital SLR. Lens mounts are different for every camera brand. You'll see even 3rd party lenses listed by mount (Nikon, Canon, etc.). That's the camera companies' way of protecting their ability to sell their own product instead of ceding it all to 3rd-party manufacturers. I am pretty sure Sony bought out Minolta's camera business. Therefore, you won't be able to find any more new Minolta digital SLR cameras being sold. Sony did just announce a new Sony Alpha A100K digital SLR camera, which may be compatible with your old Minolta lenses. Report It Old Minolta Manual focus lenses can not easily fit on Minolta DSLRs. They might make an adapter, but you will lose some metering function as well as the ability to look through the lens wide open (brightest) through the viewfinder. Maxxum series lenses should work on Minolta DSLRs, Minolta claimed functionality with all A-type Minolta AF lenses (but did not make claims for AF aftermarket lenses). As older Minolta manual focus lenses were not super sharp as their Nikon and Pentax counterparts there is absolutely no advantage to using them with a modern DSLR or SLR autofocus film camera. Given the current depressed price and recent sale of Konica Minolta's camera division to Sony there is a glut of cheap autofocus Minolta lenses, buy a used one. there hav ejust started to get the digital cmers to get slr qualty so i think it will be a little wile before you can see too many that will excange any lens i think there is one or two on the market and they are not cheap. |
