I have an SLR camera, how much do you reckon i can sell it for??

I bought an SLR camera (non-digital) about 5/6 years ago in which I paid about 拢250-拢280 (can't remember exact price). Anyways I want to sell it - how much do people think it is worth?? I didn't use it too often, and thus is in perfect condition - no damage/scratches). Serious answers only please!!

depends a lot on the model.
to be honest, a digital is there purely for ease of use.
an analogue (film) slr is far better at reproducing colours etc and it will take a while for digital to be as good i reckon.
i have digital cameras and they are good for quick pics and maybe landscapes but for people pics, film is best.
a lot of people now buying a digi slr and setting themselves up as photographers....i have seen some of the results, just because it is digital doe snot mean you have to have zero knowledge of taking a pic.
anyway, the ebay idea is best, it will give an idea of what those cameras are going for.
dont expect a lot though, even top of the range ones will get a lot less than say 拢100

I recently sold my Nikon F401 SLR to replace it with a digital and I got the grand sum of 拢55 pounds for it. SLRs are no longer in demand I'm affraid.

Check for completed auctions on a site like eBay to see what similar cameras have sold for. That will give you a good estimate of what to expect.

Not very much. People can buy a brand new one very cheap, most places that have inventory of film SLR's have cut their prices to get ride of them to make room for DSLR's. Since it's not old enoygh to be a collectible the price you will get will be very small. I tried to sell an old Ricoh and the most soemone would offer me was $50 US Dollars. It's sitting in a box on my shelf gathering dust.

Do an online search of your make and model and see what it's selling for as new, you'd be lucky to get half that amount.

I reckon you are going to take a big loss when you sell it.

They just aren't in demand any longer.

Only people buying this kind of kit are students for courses.
