What are the leading 10 Megapixel SLR digital cameras in $1000 price range?

Here is the comparison of the current 10 meg DSLR's

as you can clearly see (with exception to Nikon D200 at $1,700 street) Pentax's new K10D blows them all away....!!!!

did anyone else show you the comparision....?

In my opinion, there are only two worth considering that meet your budget - the Nikon D80 and the Canon EOS 400D.

The problem is, you can get a 10 MP BODY for $1,000, but getting a lens and a memory card are obviously required.

To really utilize the "advantage" of 10 MP, you need a decent lens and this will add about $300 to your purchase. You also need a 1 GB, high speed memory card, such as a Sandisk Ultra II, and this will cost $60-70, depending on sales or rebates.

If $1,000 is your actual top figure, it means you should not be looking at 10 MP cameras. Consider a Nikon D50 or a Canon EOS 350D.

This way, you won't have to buy the cheapest lens made and you will ultimately be much happier with your results.
