not a chance to get SLR under 200. u can probably find a lower end digital camera. on the top of my head maybe a canon A550, or a panasonic TZ1.

about SLRs you also have to remember that cost of the camera is just a tip of the iceberg. you have to add a whole family of lenses, filters to use the camera to its full capability.
