Which slr high resolution digital camera do you recommend?

The latest dSLR cameras from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, etc. all have 10 mega-pixels. That's plenty to make a 2-page print.
I'd get either Canon or Nikon for the wide selection of lenses. The specific model depends on your budget and the features you require:
$800 Canon 400D (prices are for the body only)
$1000 Nikon D80 (bigger viewfinder, better camera)
$1300 Canon 30D ('only' 8MP, but more features and faster than the D80)
$1700 Nikon D200 (back to 10MP, and better than the 30D)

The top 3 camera manufacturers in overall digital camera sales are Canon at #1, Sony at #2 and Kodak at #3. Canon is expected to surge way out in front over the next year as more people move to SLR technology at the expense of Sony's Prosumer slice.

Canon has a couple of very strong advantags over the competition:

- depth of product - from the Rebel to the 1DS Mk II they have the complete market covered

- components - Canon manufactures their own sensors and processors giving them complete control over the final packaged product

- after market - because Canon owns the DSLR market there are more 3rd party products for Canon than for other makes

My personal expiriance is that Nikon D200 is one of the best cameras out there. I happen to be partial to Nikons though. I suggest checking out Digital Photography Review for a ton of information. One other big perk is that it allows you to put your options side by side and compare. Hope this helps!
