Has anyone purchased a digital camera from the US?

I have been looking on US shopping sites for a digital SLR camera and have found them to be (incl shipping costs) considerably cheaper than here in the uk. Has anyone gone down this route? Would you recommend?

Getting products from the US can often be a cost effective way of obtaining goods...but be aware that you may have to pay customs duty on merchandise coming in from outside the EU...

Otherwise, in my experience shipments made from the US to the UK are generally easy and quick...worth the effort.

Unless you have a friend or relative who you can get it sent to it doesn't financially benefit you !!!

I live in the U.S. and I have a digital camera I bought at a store here. It works great. No problems.

Do you have a friend who lives here? Maybe they could buy you one and send it to you. The one I bought only cost $100 and it is 5 pixel...cheap but takes good pictures. Is that cheaper than in UK?

If the price is right then you should purchase it from the place that has a good history with sales versus complaints. And if you are not sure of who you are dealing with then I would suggest not to purchase anything from that sight or person. You would be better off dealing with a large corporation than with local individual people. Mainly because if it is a fairly large corporation you will be able to investigate them to see how many complaints they would have listed against them.
