Which is the best digital camera SLR type between 8-12 megapix?Depends on your needs and budget really!
There are many great Digitals in that range. If you do not need a true Digital SLR, but need all the features such as Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, etc, then go for a good 'Bridge Camera' such as the Fuji Finepix S9500 (S9000 in USA ?). It's a great camera for semi-pro use, at an affordable price!
Good Luck! There's not a bad one out there. Your budget is the determining factor. I would check out a Nikon D100 or D200. You are looking at least $1k for camera and lens. What is your budget??
If this is the first time and you want to learn and experiment with Digital SLRs then go for Canon EOS 350D or a Nikon D70S. These are very good, I have used them both. Eventhough I am partial to Nikons, in this case the Canon just edges out a little.
You can also try other models like D50, or even other brands. Stick to Canon or Nikon they wont let you down.
Also look out for package/bundle deals, where they throw in lens, memory card, case, spare battery for a lower price than if you were to buy the camera by itself.
Most digitals SLRs are sold as BODY only. Be aware of this and KITS come with a basic lens to get you started.
