Thanks nicd but 30d bit out of my price range , thoughts on eos 350d One thing to keep in mind is the cost of lenses. The camera body is only a quarter of the equation, the lens is another quarter, and YOU as the photographer is the other half.
The Canon Rebel XT would be in your price range with a little left over for an extra (inexpensive) lens. But this is an investment you shouldn't take lightly. Go to a camera store and hold the cameras you want to try. Go through the menus. Ask lots of questions. And don't buy the first thing that you pick up. Wait at least a day to think things over. You will find that one camera will be as if designed for you and the rest are all awkward. more megapixels doesn't necessarily mean a better camera, check out things like how many focus points the camera has, how many shots per second it can fire, what lenses it can take. there is no point in buying a great camera and a cheap lens, it's the lens that makes the camera, in most cases a persons lens is more expensive than their camera. i shoot with a canon 30D and really like using that. |
