Where can i find a digital SLR camera real cheap?

i live in Delaware close to philly and NY

There's a new Nikon D40 on eBay right now with the bidding below $500. Bidding ends in less than 24 hours. The seller is 45 minutes from the DelMemBr.

See Item No 200110531132...

Failing that, you can get the D40 with the 18-55 kit lens at B&H Photo (available through Yahoo! Shopping or at 1-800-622-4987) for $550 (May 2007) and this is with TWO Lexar 1 GB cards. You can get the same kit with one Lexar Platinum (higher speed) card for $560.

If you want to go cheaper than that, you can get the Pentax K100D with lens for $490 right now. You'll still need a memory card for $30-35.

If you want to buy anything any cheaper than that, please check with http://www.resellerratings.com before you accept a deal that's "too good to be true."

You're welcome. I hope you can find something you like. Report It

Try Ebay....

I once bought a Nikon film camera for $15 because the seller
misspelled Nicon.. I was the only bidder~

I don't know, but maybe you can try eBay?

If you are just going to have the stock lens, almost any dslr will do. However, if you plan to add lenses and accessories, I'd suggest either a Canon or Nikon.

You can get an older model for a lot less. I'd suggest a Nikon D40. You could get a whole camera kit brand new for under $500

Well, the cheapest SLR's around are Nikon's D40 and D50, Pentax's K100D but also you should considers Canon's 350D which got great price cuts lately as well as Konica-Minolta's Dynax 5D and even 7D (these two are discontinued but can still be seldom found in various places on the internet).

For new cameras you could try B&H Photo in New York (at least on those two Nikons they have very good prices) or you could try your luck on eBay.

try yahoo shopping

First I would look at Craigslist..you may find a great local deal. Search Deleware first, but broaden your search to nearby areas, like NY or Philadelphia, and you may find a great deal.

If you want to find a great deal on a camera, price shop your local dealers. For example, Circuit City had a Olympus E-500 SLR with 2 lenses for $599, Best Buy was $699. After pricematching, where they give you 110% of the difference, I had already made a savings. Add to this any coupons that might be offerred and you will end up saving quite a bit. What started at $699 ended up being $527.

Lastly, if neither of these work for you, I use Amazon.com. You can find used or refurbished cameras for hundreds off of what it would normally cost you.

As for what kind of SLR camera you may want, I am not sure this was your exact question. If so, what may be good for one person is bad for another, so we'd need to know more about what you plan to do with the SLR to give you an opinion on what camera to buy.

Good luck!
