yahoo shopping

Photo Optix do the Pentax K110d for 拢240 with lens.
6 MP is enough for cracking A4 prints and good A3's.
Cam gets favourable reviews and you cannet argue with the price.

If you are looking for 鈥榝ull-auto鈥?SLR look through Olympus SLRs: E330, E400, E500, E410 and E510. There are many cool features such as Live View with adequate price.

check out the canon sureshots on new egg.com

You should get the PENTAX Optio W30. It has TONS of features, VERY good picture quality, its sleek & stylish. And to add to all that, its waterproof! You can see the camera here: http://www.pentaximaging.com/products/pr...
I have had the PENTAX Optio W10 (a slighty older version) for a few years now and I absoloutly LOVE it!

The Nikon D40 has been rated the number 1 entry level DSLR by Consumer Reports. $520 with a good 18-55mm lens from many reputable shopping sites. This is not more than a good point and shoot and will allow you to get your feet wet with an SLR--has great auto and scene modes plus you have all the manual creative controls for when you become more experienced and want to experiment.

It takes all of the new nikkor dx series lenses that nikon makes for its DSLR so you have a wide choice of lenses.

Go with Olympus E-500 or newer. They come with two kit lens that are much better than what cannon or nikon has to offer on their kit lens. I have the E-500 and it is great except for at high ISO. The new version has greater ISO settings and built in Image Stabilizer. I was like you. I learned how to shoot my E-500 in dummy mode and I have no branched out. You will not regret it if you're ready to go DSLR, just beware that you will to change lens to get the same zoon capability of the all in one super zoom cameras.

Also, Oly will not get dust on the sensor like the others (it shakes it off) which is a big deal, especially if you are a newbie!

Again, before considering the Nikon D series or the Canon Rebel series, look into how they handle "image stabilization/vibration reduction." Should purchase a telephoto lense, you have to find out how to control your shaking the lens and do you want to drag along a tripod. Therefore, check into the awarding winning Pentax KD DSLRs beginning with the Pentax K100D starter kit with two Pentax lenses: 18-55 mm. normal and a 50-200 mm. telephoto. The starter kit sells for $600 at samys.com. The Pentax lens system is far more affordable than Nikon or Canon lenses.

Good luck!

All digital SLRs have a full auto mode. Its the design, handling and additional features that differentiate them. There are some great deals around at the moment.

鈥?The Nikon D40 is probably the best entry level DSLR - small, light, with the usual high Nikon picture quality, a great user interface that explains what the modes and features do. Its under 拢350 but Nikon are doing a 拢60 cashback offer taking it under 拢300.

鈥ou can buy a Pentax K100D for under 拢300. Its not as good as the Nikon in many respects but does have Anti-Shake, which is worth having. (The cheaper K110D doesn't). If you see the Samsung GX1s its identical bar the name.

鈥he Olympus E410 is good but you can still buy the E400 and E500 at discounted prices. Both good. The very best DSLR deal at the moment, bar none, is at Digital Depot (www.digitaldepot.co.uk) which is selling the old Olympus E300, with a lens, for 拢149. (Yes, 拢149). They're ex-demo/display but fully guaranteed. Its not a great camera, nowhere near as good as the newer Olympus DSLRs, but for the money its a steal. They're also doing good deals on other E series models.

鈥?Canon tends to be a bit more expensive but if you shop around you may still be able to find a discontinued EOS 350D under 拢300.

I wouldn't buy any of these though without handling them first.
