Mod-cons, Practicuality, price and provide online link. The best digital SLR at amateur level would be the Nikon D200, as reviewed here on Steves Digicams: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2006_revi...
yours for the bargain price of 拢830 - 拢1,800 depending on where you get it from.
The best PRO digital SLR appears to be another Nikon, the D2X

Yours for between 拢1,100 - 拢2,799
The Fuji S3 Pro wasn't bad either, but they've had to drop it from their range thanks to the E.U. (something to do with Mercury in the circuit boards)

Apparently the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II (拢4500) & Canon EOS 5D aren't bad either

http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_revi... Im VERY happy with my Pentax K110D. Under 拢400.

http://www.tecno.co.uk/Store/s44466/0/Di... I would say the Nikon D200. Here is a basic link. What else could a digital SLR have? If another had it then the next down-loadable D200 firmware update could add it.
http://www.fotoconnection.com/viewitem.p... I have the Canon eos 350 d, which is now superceded by the 400D and so you can get a bargain. There is little difference in my opinion Without a doubt the Nikon D200 if you want a reasonably priced camera. I'll just add to the votes for the D200. I am very happy with mine after more than a year of ownership. I've just bought a SONY Alpha 100 for 499 pounds includes a 18-70 mm lens
As I used to have a Minolta 7000 SLR I can use all my old Minolta lenses as SONY have bought up the Konica Minolta technology so only have the old camera body to dispose of. nikon has the best digital slr camera range on the current world market and uk market too. Best Camera on the market is the Canon Eos 1Ds mkII, as used by the vast majority of professionals and news houses like reuters.

What you need to do is get out there go to a few shops and try them to see what you like the feel of but remember that most people who will give you an opinion are brand loyal to the death, no matter what the facts may be. So don't rely on them too much. As long as you go for a Canon or Nikon you know you are getting a qality peice of kit but its all swings and roundabouts; at the enthusiast level they say Nikon d200 is the best cos its its got higher resolution and the buttons are more intuative but then others say Canon 30d has a better image sensor with less noisy pics with more acurate colours and its 拢200 cheaper. You gotta decide whats more important to you.
I now use Canon cos I've (and I know a few other Nikon users who've) had aweful problems with Nikon's customer services (18months to get a lense fixed!) in the past where as Canon have been really good in that respect. |
